Asian Carp Rapid Response Group to hold press conference on Wednesday, December 2

LOCKPORT- The Asian Carp Rapid Response Workgroup will hold a press conference on Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. (CST) at the main project staging site on the Chicago Sanitary and Ship Canal near Lockport, Illinois to officially begin response operations.

Members of the Asian Carp Rapid Response Workgroup from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. EPA, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the U.S. Coast Guard will be available to provide information and answer questions including additional sampling above the Barrier system. 

All interested media outlets are invited to attend, but should be prepared to provide valid media identification throughout the operation.  There will be a designated area on site for media during project operations. More information will be provided during/after the press conference.
